If you have any kind of a scar on your uterus, you may be at increased risk for complication. Although we perform abortions on patients with this history, you need to be aware that you may be at greater risk of complications such as tearing of the uterus, retention of tissue, bleeding or infection. For these reasons, the actual procedure may take longer than it might if you did not have this history.
